TRANSCRIPT:
I’ve recorded every single dream I’ve had for 18 months. Here’s how I organize my dream journals and what type of information I track.

These are my dream journals from January 2024 to now, July 2025. I started out with a standard B5 notebook. I put a table of content at the front.

At first, I was handwriting my dreams because, well, it’s a journal. There were two problems with that. First, by the time I’d get my coffee and sit down to write, I sometimes forgot the dream. And secondly, my handwriting is atrocious. I’m a computer geek, so I’m just not used to writing by hand.

I started dictating my dreams into my phone as soon as I wake up, which helps me remember a lot more. Then when I get up, I can transcribed my dictation into Microsoft Word. One benefit of using a digital file like Word is that I can cut and paste archetypal dream symbols from a dream dictionary on my Kindle app directly in the dream document. And then when I channel on a dream, I dd my full dream interpretation to the file too. Since I wanted to continue with a B5 notebook, I had to print, trim down, and glue the pages into the journal.

One issue with glue in pages is that the journals get super thick. So I moved to spiral so I could easily rip out blank pages to accommodate the bulk.

This is my most recent format-- a 3-ring binder (link here). It took too long to trim and glue pages in the B5s. This binder is expandable and the cover flips over so you can hold it like a clipboard. The link is above. This is the information I currently record for each dream – title, date, the dream itself, and my channeled interpretation, any archetypal symbols from the dream that I find in the dream dictionary I use. Many times, the symbol in my dream doesn’t have the same meaning as the dictionary definition. I’ll figure that out when I channel on it. But I like having them here or reference. Finally there’s the context, where I can log anything that happened in real life that I think might have influenced the dream. For example, if I’d just seen a movie with a similar theme as the dream, met an old friend, or had an argument. This gives me a frame of reference months later when I’m looking back at a dream.

I have a free Microsoft Word template with this format you can download on this website.

So all this work and effort, all this navel gazing, did it have any impact on my real life? Honestly, it’s been the most transformative thing I’ve ever done. I’ll get into the results in the video How Tracking My Dreams for 18 Months Changed My Life. Or you can look at this blog post.

For now, remember to live your best life, follow your dreams.
